“33rd Hanteo Music Awards” Daesang Winners Met With Skepticism And Criticism

On February 15, the 2025 Hanteo Music Awards took place, honoring a year of music with many K-Pop groups in attendance.

Of the awards, four daesangs were awarded — ENHYPEN won for “Best Performance”…

….G-Dragon won “Best Song” for “Home Sweet Home (Featuring Taeyang and Daesung”….

…ATEEZ won “Best Artist”….

…and Stray Kids won “Best Best” Album for KARMA.

These are not the first daesangs won by these artists; however, this lineup in particular has sparked some mixed reactions. On a post recapping the winners, many reacted with criticism, with some citing the lack of any female daesang winners, while others questioned the mentioned group’s achievements.

Many fans came to the artists’ defense, however, citing accomplishments and praising the artists.

While examining if there is some sort of gender bias is something worthwhile, it appears that fans simply want their favorite artists’ hard work recognized.
