Following a schedule, a photo of actor Choo Young Woo, who most recently appeared in Head Over Heels, attracted attention over the phone case he was using. A netizen discovered that the artwork was created by an artist who frequently shares suggestive imagery of young, high school-age appearing girls.

With his rise in popularity after a series of successful dramas, many were surprised by the “inappropriate” imagery he carried.  Others, however, recalled other instances of allegedly “perverted” behavior from the actor.

In February 2025, netizens heavily criticized the actor over his Instagram following, which included BJs (broadcast jockeys) known for posting sexually provocative content. He was also criticized for following rapper Jung Sang Soo, who has a history of DUI, assault, and misogyny.

The actor had a similar issue in 2021 and at that time unfollowed 30 accounts.

In light of his other controversies, his reaction, seen as comical initially, to actress Jang Do Yeon‘s low cut dress at the 2025 Blue Dragon has been viewed negatively by some.
