Husband Sets Apartment On Fire While Quarreling With His Wife — Only The Wife Survives

A man in his 50s started a fire in his apartment while quarreling with his wife. However, only the wife survived the fire.
According to the Asan Police and other sources, a man identified as A sprayed gasoline and set fire to his apartment on October 3 at around 1:35 PM local time. He lived on the 20th floor of the apartment located in Asan. After committing arson, A fell from the balcony and passed away.
A police official stated that it is presumed A started the fire due to a marital dispute.
It is presumed that A set fire to his own home while fighting with his wife, and with nowhere to escape from the flames, he hung onto the balcony until he fell to his death.

A’s wife, a woman in her 50s, and one relative in the apartment are reported to have evacuated. The wife suffered injuries while evacuating and was transported to the hospital.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters who arrived at the scene after receiving a report in about 20 minutes. Fortunately, the apartment management office broadcast evacuation instructions to residents immediately after the fire, leading to no additional casualties.
