HYBE Idol Exposes Cruel Mnet Rule That Seemingly Almost Kicked Him Out Of “I-LAND” — Sparking Major Fury

Mnet held the survival show I-LAND in 2020, which led to the formation of ENHYPEN.
While they didn’t make the final lineup, some of the trainees on the show ended up debuting with the group &TEAM, which are EJ, K, Nicholas, and Taki.

Recently, the group made a special appearance for M2.
During the video, their heart rate was monitored through a series of challenges.
At one point, K was asked about his most embarrassing moment, and the idol looked back at his I-LAND days. He revealed that during the show, the contestants weren’t allowed to talk to each other and get close, forbidding friendships.
K added that he was already friends with EJ, Nicholas, and Taki at the time.
EJ joked that nobody was meant to know, and the secret was meant to be taken to the grave.
K then explained that the staff found out he was close with Taki and that he had almost been sent back to Japan, implying that they would remove him from the show.
The clip went viral online.
👑 Back during I-LAND, we weren’t supposed to get close with other trainees, but I was already friends with Eujoo, Nicholas, and especially Taki…

Netizens shared their fury at the way the show treated the trainees, especially as they were so young.
Taki’s mom had trusted her son to K cuz he was a literal baby in a foreign country, why would K act like a stranger around a kid who was literally his responsibility 😭 that show and mnet was so evil pic.twitter.com/o7x2Re4Tzq https://t.co/2j5BkrU3Kt

How could K ignore the boy I took care of for so long just because of a program? 💔 That would be so cruel, even Taki’s mom thanked K for taking such good care of her little son🥺 https://t.co/mO94M69Nzk pic.twitter.com/8ON8pbpBMU
