While HyunA was always praised for her strong will, confidence, and empowering women, public sentiment changed when it was revealed she was dating ex-BEAST/Highlight member Yong Jun Hyung, someone involved in the Burning Sun Scandal.

Recently, @koreansales_twt shared the first week of sales for HyunA’s album Attitude.

 

When the statistics were posted, netizens couldn’t believe how low some of the numbers were, with half of the days not even reaching more than 20.

Yet, while fans thought it was hilarious that her sales were so low, stats showcased that her relationship hasn’t had much of an impact on the statistics. The same X account shared that within the first two days, HyunA had her best sales…

A comparison of all of HyunA’s past albums shows there was actually an increase compared to releases like I’m Not Cool.

In particular, the sales summary for HyunA all seemed very consistent throughout the years, and it is impossible to compare soloist figures to those of K-pop idol groups. Although this album’s change across the week was definitely not consistent and showed huge differences in numbers.

While it seems a lot of fans have turned against HyunA after the announcement of her relationship, it hasn’t seemed to have impacted her sales that much when looking at the overall stats. Yet, the huge difference from the first day to the rest of the week might show that fewer casual fans are buying, as it isn’t uncommon for the first-day sales to be high from hardcore fans.
