Before I-LAND’s Sunghoon Was A Trainee, He Was A Champion Figure Skater
An exciting new audition program has everybody talking, and so do its mysterious trainees!
I-LAND is the first collaborative project under BELIFT LAB Incorporations (BELIFT): a joint venture between Big Hit Entertainment and CJ ENM. This observational reality show, filmed at an elaborate, custom studio, seeks to find the next generation of K-Pop artists.
The names, photos, and introductory information for six contestants have now been released. Beyond their ages and home countries, not much is known about the trainees, but fans have already discovered more Sunghoon.
Seventeen-year-old Sunghoon was born on December 8, 2002 in Seoul. He began competing in figure skating in 2010, when he was just 8 or 9 years old.
Not only is Sunghoon a competitive skater, he’s also a silver and gold medalist! He is listed as the 2015 novice gold medalist for the Lombardia Trophy and the 2016-2017 junior silver medalist for the Asian Figure Skating Trophy.
Fans who have seen his figure skating photos and videos are being blown away by his talent…
…and gracefulness.
If Sunghoon dances this well on ice, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with on the stage!
