Recently, the BTS rapper appeared as a guest on popular choreographer Kany Diabaté’s YouTube show, Finding Kany. While talking about the group’s latest release, ARIRANG, he revealed that the “dream stage” for BTS at the moment was the Super Bowl.

This answer prompted an enthusiastic response from Kany, who urged the related stakeholders to make it happen for BTS in 2027.

However, the clip sparked unexpectedly heated backlash online, with many bringing up Jungkook’s missed Super Bowl debut. In 2024, Jungkook was reportedly invited to perform with Usher at the Super Bowl halftime show. The offer was declined by his label since he had to enlist for his mandatory military service.

So, when J-Hope named Super Bowl as a dream stage, many started calling out HYBE for supposedly sabotaging Jungkook’s opportunity to prioritize BTS as a group.

These allegations, however, were not the primary concern of ARMYs. While many expressed support for J-Hope’s dream, others were worries about BTS being exposed to the more conservative viewer base of the Super Bowl halftime show if they actually end up performing there.

Would BTS be able to create another cultural moment at the Super Bowl just like Bad Bunny? ARMYs are definitely excited for the possibility.
