January 1st Means Another K-Pop Idol Couple Will Be Revealed By Dispatch

The year 2018 is just around the corner, and everyone is looking forward to January 1st, 2018, except for a few celebrities who may have a secret love.

Each year, Korean news agency Dispatch celebrates the new year by revealing new celebrity couples to the public. Here is the list of couples who have been exposed by Dispatch on the new year.

1. January 1, 2013 — Rain and Kim Tae Hee

Dispatch revealed top stars Rain the Kim Tae Hee’s relationship as the year 2013 began. The two got married on January 19th of 2017.

2. January 1, 2014 — Lee Seung Ki and Girls’ Generation’s Yoona

Dispatch spotted Lee Seung Ki and Yoona’s date and exposed them on new year’s day in 2014. The couple dated for nearly two years and announced their break up in July 2015.

3. January 1, 2015 — Lee Jung Jae and Lim Seryung

The relationship of actor Lee Jung Jae and Lim Seryung, the daughter of Daesang Group’s president, was revealed by Dispatch on January 1, 2015. They confirmed their relationship in the same month.

4. January 1, 2016 — EXID’s Hani and JYJ’s Junsu

T2016 started off with the relationship of Hani and Junsu being unveiled to the public. The couple confirmed that they are dating, but announced that they broke up the following September.

5. January 1, 2017 — No reveal

On January 1, 2017, Dispatch did not reveal any new celebrity couples, reasoning that everyone’s attention must be paid to the political scandal involving former president Park Geun Hye and Choi Soon Sil.

 

Don’t let that short list fool you, however, Dispatch has a long history of catching celebrity couples and being the first to break the news to unsuspecting fans.

Here is the list of all the Korean celebrity couples who have been exposed by Dispatch:

 

1. Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye

Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye were caught by Dispatch spending time together in Seoul, England, and Hawaii after their schedules. They have denied their romantic relationship many times, but fans continues to suspect (and hope?) that the pair are indeed romantically linked.

2. Shinhwa’s Eric and Na Hye Mi

Eric and Na Hye Mi were rumored to be dating back in 2014 but they denied their relationship. 2 years later, however, they were caught on a Christmas date at a movie theater by Dispatch. They finally admitted to having been together for 4 years and got married in July 2017.

3. Lee Joon Ki and Jeon Hye Bin

Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk allegedly fell in love as they filmed Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo together and were caught spending their time together whenever they had time. They broke up in August, however, 4 months after confirming their relationship.

5. Son Yeon Jae and FTISLAND’s Choi Jonghoon

Choi Jonghoon and Son Yeon Jae were caught celebrating Son Yeon Jae’s 24th birthday together by Dispatch in June 2017. They confirmed their relationship but also broke up in August.

6. UEE and Kangnam

Dispatch caught UEE and Kangnam on a date in Apgujung, Korea in July 2017. They broke up only a month after confirming their relationship.

7. Ryu Joon Yeol and Girl’s Day’s Hyeri

Hyeri and Ryu Joon Yeol were caught by Dispatch spending time together at Seokchon lake park, and it was reported that they have been dating since the end of 2016.

8. BLOCK B’s ZICO and AOA’s Seolhyun

ZICO and Seolhyun were caught secretly dating in Zico’s cars and his apartment. One month after their relationship was exposed, however, they announced that they had broken up, expressing that the attention they were getting was very overwhelming and so they drifted apart.

9. G-Dragon and Kiko

GD and Kiko were spotted spending time together with their friends in Itaewon by Dispatch. They never admitted their relationship.

10. Choiza and Sulli

Choiza and Sulli were caught at Nam mountain working out together in the late evening and spending time together at a drive-in movie theater. They eventually broke up after 3 years of dating.

11. Lee Min Ho and Suzy

Lee Min Ho and Suzy were caught by Dispatch in London, England. They met each other in London and spent time together in Shangrila Hotel. They confirmed their relationship the day after and broke up in November 2017 after three years together.

12. EXO’s Baekhyun and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon

Dispatch caught Baekhyun and Taeyeon’s date in Taeyeon’s open car near EXO’s dorm back in June 2013. They announced that they broke up in September 2015.

13. EXO’s Kai and f(x)’s Krystal

Dispatch caught Kai and Krystal on a date despite their busy schedule back in April of 2016. They confirmed that they had indeed been dating but soon broke up after spending 14 months together.

14. Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin

This visual couple was spotted dating secretly at Shin Min Ah’s house and Kim Woo Bin’s car back in the summer of 2015. They confirmed their relationship the following day and are still together.

15. Girls’ Generation’s Yuri and Oh Seung Hwan

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri was spotted with basketball player Oh Seung Hwan by Dispatch back in 2015. It was revealed that they had been dating for 5 months when their relationship was exposed and they broke up about half a year later.

16. Goo Hara and Highlight’s Junhyung

Dispatch spotted Goo Hara and Junhyung dating early in the morning back in 2011. Despite their busy schedules, they went on dates whenever they could and made no attempt to disguise themselves. They announced the end of their relationship in 2013.

17. Lee Da Hae and Se7en

Dispatch spotted Se7en and Lee Da Hae together in Bangkok, having afternoon tea together at a 6-star hotel. Shortly thereafter, they confirmed their relationship and are still dating.

18. IU and Jang Ki Ha

IU and Jang Ki Ha were caught by Dispatch entering each others’ apartment despite their busy schedule. They dated for a good three years and broke up in January 2017.

19. Han Hye Jin and Ki Sung Yong

Han Hye Jin and Ki Sung Yong’s relationship was exposed by Dispatch in April 2013 despite having been extremely careful not to be seen by the public. They got married four months after confirming their relationship in July 2013.

20. Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee

Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee’s relationship was exposed by Dispatch on their 4th month anniversary. They mostly stayed in their cars to keep their dates secret and announced that they broke up after dating for one and a half years.

21. Won Bin and Lee Na Young

Won Bin and Lee Na Young were spotted together by Dispatch at Lee Na Young’s apartment back in 2013. They were reported to have met each other 8 times a month, regularly. They got married in 2015, and their relatively small wedding kickstarted the trend of having small weddings.
