One Member From Jung Joon Young’s Chatroom Arrested For Rape
It was recently revealed that while the police were investigating the phones that belonged to members of Jung Joon Young‘s controversial chatroom, they discovered 10 or more videos that could be classified as rape.
As a result, one of the members from the chatroom was arrested on rape charges. The media have not identified which member was arrested.
Lawyer Bang Jung Hyun, who is representing some of the alleged rape victims, revealed that the case is being considered a “special rape” case, rather than a “simple” one. Special rape is different from simple rape as it requires 2 or more people conspiring to the rape or having a weapon been used in the crime. Special rape carries a more severe punishment than simple rape.
Bang Jung Hyun revealed that some of the victims in the videos weren’t even aware that they had been raped. Some claimed that they were completely knocked out after only a few drinks, possibly inferring to being drugged by the chatroom members. He plans on thoroughly reporting the criminals to the police as a representative of the victims.
No further information has been revealed about the recent arrest or other possible arrests of the other members.
