They finally addressed fan complaints.

Following widespread backlash over the dangerous and poorly managed conditions at DAY6’s recent concert in Jakarta, JYP Entertainment has officially addressed the situation.

The concert, held in Jakarta, Indonesia, faced multiple challenges including severe weather, delays, and a controversial venue change. Fans were left standing outside the venue for hours in thunderstorms, heavy wind, and rain with little protection. Videos and photos showing the collapse of temporary tents and the mass protest outside the venue quickly went viral, leading to a surge of criticism directed at the local concert organizer, Mecima Pro.

In their statement, JYP Entertainment acknowledged the mishandling of the event.

“Hello,

This is JYP Entertainment.

First and foremost, we sincerely apologize to all the fans who care for DAY6 for causing any concern.

On May 3, DAY6 held their 3RD WORLD TOUR <FOREVER YOUNG> concert in Jakarta. Unfortunately, due to complications in coordination with the local promoter and poor management in resolving the situation, there was an inadequate response and lack of safety measures during adverse weather conditions. This resulted in delays to both the sound check and the start of the main performance.

We deeply apologize to the fans who waited patiently in the bad weather and were inconvenienced, as well as to the artists who did their best under difficult circumstances while still putting the fans first.

We take full responsibility for this situation and are reflecting on it seriously. We promise to do everything we can to ensure that our artists can focus solely on their performances under the best conditions, and we will pay close attention to on-site operations so that fans can enjoy concerts comfortably and safely in the future.

Once again, we sincerely apologize to everyone who attended the DAY6 concert and was affected.

Thank you.”
