On August 31, images of several girls walking into JYP sparked rumors that they are preparing for an upcoming debut. Alongside the photos, alleged details about each trainee began circulating, including their names, nationalities, and birthdates.

The rumored lineup consists of ERI, a Korean-Japanese trainee born in 2008, YINAH, a Korean trainee born in 2007, TOMI, a Japanese trainee also born in 2007, MARISE, a Korean-Australian trainee born in 2006, and JINNI, a Korean trainee born in 2006.

The news, however, has not been met with universal excitement. Many netizens criticized the company, arguing that JYP has struggled with managing its current girl groups and should focus on strengthening them instead of preparing a new one.

Fans expressed concern that introducing another team could result in neglect of existing groups, pointing out that ITZY and NMIXX still need stronger promotions and direction.

On the other hand, some observers saw a positive side to the rumors. With the youngest rumored trainee born in 2008, many noted that while the lineup is still very young, JYP avoided the growing trend of debuting idols at just 14 or 15 years old. For some, this felt like a step in the right direction compared to the industry’s recent push toward even younger debuts.

JYP Entertainment has not released any statement addressing the speculation, leaving fans to debate whether these trainees will actually be the company’s next girl group or if the rumors are just another round of unconfirmed buzz.
