JYP Releases Official Statement Regarding Poor Treatment Of Stray Kids’ Fans At 2022 ISAC Recording
Recently, JYP Entertainment released an official apology statement online to the fans of Stray Kids that received poor treatment during the recording of MBC’s Idol Star Athletics Championship. Below is the official statement released online.
Hello, this is JYP Entertainment. We would like to apologize that this year’s ‘2022 Chuseok Special Idol Star Athletic Championship’ did not go smoothly. First off, regarding the banner production cost issue, we would like apologize for hurting the fans when we should have been grateful for the fans’ efforts.
We have sent a separate apology email to the fan who took part in the creating of the banner and would like to take this time to express our apologies once again. In addition, we would like to apologize for the staff remarks at the recording site of the show.
On the day of the recording, we found out that a staff member threatened to ‘read fan letters out loud’ if fans did not stop filming and we have confirmed this to be true from our fan marketing team. For schedules that involve a large number of participants, such as outdoor events or broadcasts, we usually enlist the help of external staff in order to ensure that fans can participate in a safer and more efficient manner. As a result, it was confirmed that the above issue was the result of a staff member of an external security company.
With this, we believe that there is greater fault on our part in our inability to properly handle external staff members. We would like to sincerely apologize to all the fans who we unable to enjoy the event due to this uncomfortable event. Furthermore, we promise to take more caution so that fans will not feel uncomfortable at a place that is filled with warm hearts for Stray Kids. Thank you.
