7 K-Dramas Premiering In May That Will Finish Spring Right

May is here! That means we’re getting close and closer to summer! These seven amazing K-Dramas are just what you need to finish your Spring right!

1. Bossam: Steal the Fate

 

Premiere Date: May 1

Set in the Joseon dynasty, this is the story of Ba Woo (Jun Il Woo), a rogue who accidentally kidnaps a princess. Soo Kyung (Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri), the princess in question, is the widowed daughter of King Gwanghae. Although their relationship starts at odds, they soon band together to overcome their hardships.

2. Youth of May

 

Premiere Date: May 3

This series will highlight a group of young adults living through May 1980, a historically significant time in South Korea. The romance K-Drama stars Lee Do Hyun as Hwang Hee Tae, a medical student who is not only determined and driven but also sly and mischievous. Go Min Si plays Kim Myung Hee, an experienced nurse who has gone through all sorts of hardships.

3. Imitation

 

Premiere Date: May 7

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, Imitation will follow the lives of three idol groups, Tea Party, SHAX, and Sparkling. The soloist LA LIMA is also an integral piece of the story. Tea Party is a girl group and includes members Lee Ma Ha (Jung Ji So), Shim Hyun Ji (Lim Nayoung), and Yoo Ri Ah (Minseo). SHAX is a top boy group with members Kwon Ryoc (Lee Jun Young), Hyuk (ATEEZ‘s Jongho), Lee Hyun (SF9‘s Hwiyoung), Do Jin (JxR‘s Yuri), and Jae Woo (Ahn Jung Hoon), while SF9‘s Chani will play their former member Lee Eun Jo. Sparkling is SHAX’s rival boy group consisting of Lee Yoo Jin (ATEEZ‘s Yunho), Se Young (ATEEZ‘s Seonghwa), Min Soo (ATEEZ‘s San), and Hyun Oh (Boys Republic‘s Suwoong). Former T-ARA‘s Jiyeon plays the solo artist LA LIMA.

4. Mine

 

Premiere Date: May 8

This series is about strong and ambitious women who overcome society’s prejudices and discover what’s truly theirs. Lee Bo Young stars as Seo Hee Soo, a former A-list actress and the wife of the second son of a chaebol family. Kim Seo Hyung will star as Jung Seo Hyun, the elegant wife of the chaebol family’s eldest son.

5. Doom at Your Service

 

Premiere Date: May 10

This upcoming fantasy romance series is about Myul Mang (Seo In Guk), who causes everything he touches to vanish, and Tak Dong Kyung (Park Bo Young), who puts her life on the line to avoid her fate. It also stars Shin Do Hyun as Na Ji Na, Lee Soo Hyuk as Cha Joo Ik, and Kang Tae Oh as Lee Hyun Kyu, who are in a love triangle.

6. Here’s My Plan

 

 

Premiere Date: May 19

This is the story of So Hyun (Kim Hwan Hee), a 19-year-old planning an act of revenge to destroy the happiness of those who made her life miserable. To complete this goal, she gets a part-time job at Happy Chicken, where she meets the owner Jae Young (Ryu Soo Young) and part-time worker Jo Yun Ho (Kim Do Hoon).

7. My Roommate is Gumiho

 

Premiere Date: May 26

Based on a webtoon, this K-Drama is about a college student named Lee Dam (Hyeri) who accidentally swallows the marble of a 999-year-old male gumiho named Shin Woo Yeo (Jang Ki Yong). If a human swallows a gumiho‘s marble, they can only live for one year, and then the marble will break, preventing the gumiho from becoming human. As the two work together to find a way to remove the marble before the year is up, Shin Woo Yeo suggests the two move in together.
