He looked surprised upon hearing his name being called by the announcers but walked up to the stage with confidence, delivering the speech that he prepared well soon after.

I’m grateful to the people who allowed me be part of this movie. Thank you so much to Park Hoon Jung as well as the entire team including actors and staff members for their hard work on The Childe.

I’d also like to thank the people at the Grand Bell Awards and the award committees for presenting me the opportunity to win the Best New Actor award. I love you all: the audiences who enjoyed The Childe, my fans, and everyone else. It was my first time working on a film, and I was amazed at how much effort and passion it takes to make one. I feel privileged and happy to be a part of the process.

Though his words were perfect for the most part, he made an adorable mistake towards the end. Fans noticed that he was so nervous, he thanked his dad one too many times!

Lastly, I want to thank my dad and dad.

The crowd couldn’t help but laugh when they heard him repeat the word “dad” instead of saying “dad and mom.” He looked flustered and quickly corrected himself.

Oh, no, I meant my mom and dad.

Needless to say, fans online also found the mistake adorable!

The 59th Grand Bell Awards took place on November 15 at the Gyeonggi Arts Center in Gyeonggi-do.
