It has been revealed that actor Kim Soo Hyun has not paid the necessary costs by the deadline for the trial filed against the late Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family and Garosero. The costs he must pay to the court are estimated at approximately 38,000,000 KRW ($26,716.51 USD).
According to the legal community, the 14th Civil Agreement Division of the Seoul Central District Court ordered Kim Soo Hyun to correct the recognition and delivery fees. Correction means correcting any defects in the complaint or document.
Initially, Kim Soo Hyun revealed that he would file a lawsuit for damages worth ₩12.0 billion KRW (about $8.16 million USD), but the amount the claim received by the court was ₩11.0 billion KRW (about $7.77 million USD). With this, the presiding judge corrected the error and ordered that the fees be paid based on ₩12.0 billion KRW (about $8.16 million USD).
However, as of April 16, Kim Soo Hyun’s side submitted an application for an extension of the correction deadline. It seems to be intended in order to postpone the deadline for paying the fee.
It is most likely that he submitted the extension deadline on the last day of the deadline. The plaintiff must complete the correction within seven days of the copy being delivered. If the deadline is missed, the complaint could be dismissed.
