An Upcoming K-Drama’s Casting Already Has Viewers Expecting The Worst

Some feel it is a continuation of a big problem.

Before a K-Drama aired, it could attract much attention simply because of who was cast in it. For example, King The Land had already garnered a huge following before the first episode due to 2PM’s Junho and Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA being cast as the leads.

However, this can also happen oppositely, with viewers disappointed by a casting choice. This was recently seen with the announcement of the actors for an upcoming K-Drama series.

MBC‘s K-Drama Let’s Go To The Moon, about a chaebol rediscovering his dreams, will air in 2025. Some castings, including actresses Ra Mi Ram and Jo A Ram, have already been announced.

On October 24, it was reported that actor Kim Young Dae would play the chaebol in the series.

Kim Young Dae is known for appearing in Extraordinary You and has recently appeared in Shooting Stars and Perfect Family.

Several posts announcing the reported casting evoked a wide variety of reactions. Many were excited to see the actor continue to appear in lead roles in the new series.

On the other hand, many were disappointed by this casting and criticized his acting skills. Some also talked about an ongoing trend of “bad” male actors being cast with older and more respected female actors, who are forced to “carry” their weight.

An exact air date has not been announced, but it is safe to say many will be tuned in.
