In 2023, many netizens noticed that a particular influencer had suddenly stopped posting online.

The influencer, known for his TikTok account @ox_zung, whose real name is Seo Won Jeong, was the most followed non-celebrity Korean with over 55 million followers.

Seo initially gained fame after his videos containing his catchphrase “Mama” went viral, eventually earning him a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2023 list. After several months of wondering where he went, Seo was alleged to be “Influencer A” in a sexual assault investigation that included an allegation of filming.

SBS reported, “Influencer A and one other man was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman.” The news detailed that “Influencer A” and the other man had drinks with “Woman B,” before taking her to the other man’s house and raping her. “Woman B” is said to have called the police, reporting that she “heard recording noises when she woke up after having fallen asleep” and that she “got sexually assaulted by both men.”

It has been confirmed that ‘Influencer A’ refused to open the door when the police showed up to investigate the scene. The fire department had to get involved to force the door open.

While the initial news report did not reveal Seo’s name or face, it included a blurred video in the background for reference, which was more than enough for his followers to recognize.

In April 2025, it was reported that the influencer, Mr. Seo, was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison, but a second trial found him guilty of only attempted rape due to a lack of evidence of gang rape. The sentence was then changed to 1 year and 6 months in prison, suspended for 2 years.

He also was reported to have made an agreement with the victim.

Seo shared a post on May 27, containing a lengthy apology and seemingly admitting to being the influencer in question by stating he had cooperated with the investigation. There were initially no posts following this, but Seo has since continued posting on TikTok.

On July 3, Seo shared a post showing himself cleaning before facing the camera and bowing. He also shared a video the day after, returning to his usual reposting sort of content.
