Korean netizens reacted to the shocking revelation that YG Entertainment‘s TREASURE would be moving forward without members Bang Yedam and Mashiho.
Earlier, YG Entertainment broke the news to fans by releasing a statement informing them that the two members would not be moving forward with the group.
Hello, this is YG Entertainment.
First of all, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the TREASURE MAKERS for all the support and love towards TREASURE.
Today, we have an important announcement about TREASURE’s future activities.
Going forward, TREASURE transforms into a 10-member group – consisting of Choi Hyun suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jae Hyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong woo, and So Jung hwan.
After a long and careful discussion with Mashiho and Bang Ye dam was mutually agreed to conclude the contracts between the two and YG Entertainment.
We have reached such agreement so that Mashiho could have enough time to recover from his health condition, and Bang Ye dam could pursue his career as a producer.
Knowing that all of TREASURE’s fans have been waiting for Mashiho and Bang Ye dam, we are very sad about their departure as they have been with TREASURE from the beginning. We ask for your continuing support for Mashiho and Bang Ye dam.
YG Entertainment will put its best efforts in communicating with TREASURE MAKERS and supporting TREASURE’s future activities.
Thank you so much.

The announcement came as a shock to many fans, although it was previously announced that Bang Yedam and Mashiho would be stepping away from TREASURE promotions.
Many netizens reacted to the news in shock, but there were netizens who stated that the member change might be mutually beneficial, stating in particular that Bang Yedam should have debuted as a solo artist.
- “Yedam should have been a solo artist. His voice is so unique, but was overshadowed by the 12-member group.”
- “He’s leaving the group, not YG, right? Rather than look for another label, please drop some good music.”
- “Ah, I hoped it wouldn’t come to this.”
- “I knew this would happen, but even still… ㅠ.”
Bang Yedam and Mashiho were beloved members of YG Entertainment’s fourth-generation group, TREASURE. Bang Yedam joined the label after being discovered in SBS‘s audition program K-Pop Star in 2013. Mashiho was a Japanese member of the group who was one of the earliest trainees of YG Japan. Both members would debut as TREASURE members in 2021, and although they won’t be partaking in future TREASURE promotions, they will be dearly missed by fans.
