Vietnam Photo Booth Assault Goes Viral— Sparks Fury
Recently, an incident in Hanoi, Vietnam, has garnered much attention on online Korean community sites.
On July 11, two Vietnamese girls took pictures at a photo booth in Nam Triem, Hanoi, after making a reservation and paying. However, while taking photos, two Korean women started to shout from outside and urged them to hurry up.
But they still had plenty of time left to take photos. When one of the Vietnamese women reacted in confusion, one of the Korean women approached first and assaulted her.
However, afterwards, both Korean women began assaulting the Vietnamese women.

Not long after, the Korean women’s personal information was leaked online.

“Hello, I am the victim whose personal information has been leaked from the photo booth assault incident. First, to explain, I was drunk, and because the two Vietnamese girls were taking so long, I assaulted them, which was something I should not have done.
I have reached an agreement with the girls and decided to send them 60000000 VND ($~2,295.64 USD) for hospital costs. The case is now closed, so please stop exposing any more information. I apologize for causing trouble.”
However, the victims made a post online saying that everything was false.

Those two women did not drink and were totally sober. Everything is a lie. After assaulting us, the two of them went out and enjoyed coffee, and my friend stated that they did not look drunk at all and that they were actually just laughing as they talked about hitting someone. They are just lying so that their sentence can be reduced.
The victims also revealed they had never received any money from them. The case has started to gain traction and is now being reported in the Vietnamese media.
Korean netizens were so embarrassed at their unacceptable behavior.

- “Are they crazy. What are they doing in another country? Stop making excuses and compensate them. Why are they trying to ruin our country’s image?”
- “Bad feelings are going to spread because of this now.”
- “Don’t say you’re Korean anywhere….such an embarrassment.”
- “Crazy…”
- “They should just wait…why are they acting like this.”
