K-Pop Albums Make Up More Than Half Of The Top 10 Best-Selling Albums In The U.S. This Year

The popularity of the music genre is growing in the U.S.!

If there was any doubt that the K-Pop music genre was growing in the United States, recently released data about the best-selling albums of 2023 in the country will dispel it.

With the year about halfway through, K-Pop albums account for six of the top ten best-selling albums in the U.S. for the year so far! It just goes to show that the buying power of K-Pop fans is no joke, even when it comes to international fans.

The highest-selling K-Pop album of 2023 in the U.S. so far is TXT‘s The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION, which ranks at #2. Coming shortly after it at #3 is TWICE‘s Ready To Be album, which will likely see sales go up as their tour of the same name brings the members to the country in the coming days.

Even though it was only released a little over a week ago, Stray Kids‘ most recent album, ★★★★★ (5-STAR), has already taken the #4 position in the top 10. Two spots down, SEVENTEEN‘s FML album comes in at #6, while BTS member Suga‘s D-DAY album as Agust D takes the #8 place.

Finally, fellow BTS member Jimin‘s solo debut album, FACE, finishes up the K-Pop albums within the top 10, coming in at #9.

The four non-K-Pop albums that are in the top 10 are Midnights by Taylor SwiftOne Thing at a Time by Morgan Wallen72 Seasons by Metallica, and Portals by Melanie Martinez, which take the #1, #5, #7, and #10 spots respectively.

Here’s how K-Pop fans are reacting to the music genre taking over the best-selling albums list in the U.S. and making it seem like a K-Pop chart rather than an international one.

It will be interesting to see how this list changes between now and the end of the year!
