On November 9, news media outlet Joy News 24 released the results of an ongoing survey they had hosted from September 19 until October 4. The survey in question asked 200 Korean entertainment professionals — which included employees of entertainment and broadcasting companies, broadcast and film content producers, and entertainment reporters — to pick who they believe to be the “Artist of the Year” was, as well as what was the “Song of the Year”.

Though there were several artists and songs that received many votes, there was definitely one for each category that came out on top with the most votes for making 2022 a brighter year.

As far as who the top choices were for “Artist of the Year”, in eighth place was a tie between NCT and (G)I-DLE with five votes each. Stray Kids came in seventh place with seven votes.

Despite NewJeans being brand new to the industry, they managed to place sixth with ten votes! BLACKPINK came in fifth with 26 votes, while soloist Lim Youngwoong was one of two solo artists to make the list, coming in fourth with 31 votes.

IU placed third with 36 votes, and BTS just surpassed the soloist queen with 38 votes from the professionals.

The artist that came in first place was none other than monster rookie girl group IVE, who received 47 votes total!

The choices for “Song of the Year” had several ties, though the song that came out on top didn’t have a match. Eighth place was tied between “Feel My Rhythm” by Red Velvet and “Still Life” by BIGBANG, both receiving 9 votes each.

Sixth place was also a tie, with IVE’s “After Like” and WSG Wannabe‘s “At That Moment” each receiving ten votes.

Fourth place was also a tie, as BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” and NewJeans’ “Hybe Boy” both earned 12 votes.

Third place went to (G)I-DLE’s “TOMBOY” with 21 votes, while second place was given to “Attention” by NewJeans after receiving 30 votes.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, IVE’s mega-hit “Love Dive” took first place in the “Song of the Year” category with a whopping 62 votes from the professionals!
