Kyuhyun’s father charged for illegally operating guest house
Super Junior’s Kyuhyun’s father is revealed to have been charged for illegally accepting customers for his guest house.
According to Seoul Police’s Tourism Deparment on December 24th, Kyuhyun’s father, the CEO of M Guest House, has been officially charged by police for operating a business without a permit. Through the statement released, it was stated that Kyuhyun’s father has been running the guest house since last September in Myungdong. However, the guest house was only permitted to operate one floor under the proper lodging licence provided for guest house owners, while the rest of the floors were deemed not suitable for housing services and accommodation.
Due to this violation of taking guests on the rests of the floors not covered by the permit, Kyuhyun’s father is indicted for less than a year in jail or less than $10,000 in fines. When police officials were asked for their latest audits through a number of guest houses, it was revealed that, “Recently there have been increased number of reports where guest houses accepted customers without the proper licensing. We are planning to take a stronger stance against such illegal activities.”
The M Guest House is a 6-story building that has an underground parking lot and a cafe at ground level. The rest five floors of the building are used to provide accommodations to the guests who are booked to stay.
Meanwhile, the guest house is described to be a popular amongst Kyuhyun’s fans as it was often mentioned through his TV appearances. It was also the location used for a number of events involving Super Junior, including Kyuhyun’s latest fan signing.
