Latest Update of EXO’s Leader Suho Shows Signs of His New Military Role

Fans get another chance to see the faithful leader’s progress in the army.

At the end of last month, the Nonsan Army Training Center’s website posted photos of recruits who had recently been training at that location, and one of the individuals featured on the homepage was none other than EXO‘s leader Suho.

Suho, who enlisted just a few weeks ago on May 14, became a training unit commander at the military training center. In this role, Suho would function as an overseer and representative during recruits’ basic military training. Take a closer look below at his left chest to see the insignia of his new company, showing his new role:

He reported to the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam province to begin his basic military training. During this initial preliminary period, trainees are evaluated to decide an army role that is best suited for them. This supervisor-type role is quite fitting for him, seeing as though he’s been the leader of one of K-Pop’s most popular idol groups for just over eight years.

Suho becomes the third EXO member to enlist in the military for his mandatory service, following D.O and Xiumin. Suho’s expected return date is early February 2022, while D.O and Xiumin have anticipated return dates of early 2021 and late 2020, respectively.

As the group’s faithful “guardian,” Suho will be missed by his members and fans alike. However, time will surely fly by until he is once again reunited with us all.

We continue to wish Suho—and D.O and Xiumin—safety, happiness, and good health during their time in the military.
