LE SSERAFIM Might Just Have The Most Evenly Divided Gender Demographics Among Their Fans
Different K-Pop artists appeal to different kinds of fans for varying reasons — not every girl group has the same ratio of male to female fans, and the same goes for boy groups too. It seems that the types of concepts that artists tend to gravitate towards can have a big impact on their fanbase demographics, and recently, some interesting data was released about the fanbase of LE SSERAFIM.
The data was collected from information about their fans during fan meetings this year, and included both gender ratios of their fandom as well as age demographics.
According to this data, LE SSERAFIM has what some might consider a surprisingly even divide between male and female fans. While 44.2% of the people that attended their fan meeting were men, 55.8% were women, making for a near 50-50 split.
When it came to age, their largest group of fans was by far made up of those in their 20s, with 51.1% within that age range. 29.6% were between 10-19, 15% were in their 30s, 3.6% in their 40s, and 0.4% in their 50s.
In general, male K-Pop groups tend to have more female fans while girl groups tend to have more male fans, though this is certainly not always the case. In fact, we took a look last year at the massively different gender demographics for over 25 popular girl groups based on album sales.
The topic of LE SSERAFIM’s fan demographics was recently shared on an online forum, where netizens expressed their interest and happiness that the talented girl group is able to keep such an evenly divided fanbase.
It will be interesting to see how this changes (or not) the longer that LE SSERAFIM is in the K-Pop industry!
