LE SSERAFIM’s “Unforgiven” Comeback Coincided With Their Debut Anniversary, Causing One Major Drawback For The Members

There’s a con to making a comeback almost exactly a year after debut.

LE SSERAFIM is soaring to new heights with their new comeback. They released their first full length album, Unforgiven, on May 1. It was a day before their first year anniversary since their debut song “Fearless” came out.

In an interview with Dazed, the members opened up about the latter. Though it was a positive decision as the girls could celebrate their past and present at the same time with their fans, it also came with a downside.

The main one was that the girls could not have time to celebrate on their own. Though they held a livestream with FEARNOTS, the five also wished to commemorate how far they’ve come in private. Their comeback aligning with their anniversary meant that they currently do not have the time to do so.

We’re going to be very, very busy [since we’ll be promoting during our anniversary].

— Chaewon

Their plans to celebrate are still “to be confirmed.” Leader Chaewon shared that they are waiting until the end of their Unforgiven promotions to have a meal together.

After our busy schedules, I hope that we can all gather around in our dorms and eat delicious food

This simple way of partying is already enough for them. The members, after all, consider each other family and find enjoyment just by being with each other.

I think we got too close to each other. Too much. We feel like a family now. We have such great chemistry and teamwork, and I think that really shows on the stage as well.

— Chaewon

Unfortunately, their dinner will still take some time. Yunjin interjected that their solo celebration is “wishful thinking” for now. LE SSERAFIM has a jam-packed schedule filled with music and variety show appearances, filming for their social media accounts, interviews, and more.

Regardless, they are happy with this comeback and the hard work they put—and continue to put—into it.

Since it’s our first full-length offering, it took longer than usual to prepare this album. We put a lot of effort, a lot of care, and thoughts into it. We [tried so many] new genres, and that was kind of a difficult process. But everyone worked really hard.
