Despite his busy schedules, actor Lee Jun Ki has confirmed his attendance for the 2014 KBS Drama Awards.
Although Lee Jun Ki’s attendance was in question due to his ongoing filming schedule in China, a compromise of schedule has allowed Lee Jun Ki to attend the 2014 KBS Drama Awards which will be held in Yeouido, South Korea on December 31st.
He has been nominated for the Netizen Award – Actor, Best Couple Award, Popularity Award – Actor, Best Actor in a Mid-Length Drama (Excellence, Top Excellence and Best) for his participation in the Korean drama Gunman in Joseon which aired from June to September of this year.
Gunman in Joseon remains the only weekday drama to have retained a 10%+ rating in comparison to other dramas that share the same time frame and has been praised for its unique concept. As such, hopes for Gunman in Joseon other popular weekend dramas such as Jeong Do-jeon and What’s With This Family for the top prize remains high.
The same holds true for Lee Jun Ki, who has garnered lavish praise from critics and fans alike for his outstanding lead role in “Gunman in Joseon.” Some fans, however remember the MBC Drama Awards back in 2013, where despite receiving high praise and solid ratings for his work, Lee Jun Ki had failed to receive an award.
Meanwhile, Lee Jun Ki recently updated fans of his ongoing schedules after sustaining an injury from his concert tour in China last week. However, he did assure fans that he will continue his work commitments as scheduled after receiving treatment.
