Popular Actress Sparks Controversy In Recent Photos, Triggers Divided Reactions
Recently, actress Lee Min Jung posted photos from Venice and received backlash online.
Lee traveled to Venice with her husband, actor Lee Byung Hun, who stars in No Other Choice, which was invited to the 81st Venice International Film Festival.

She posted various photos on her Instagram from her trip, and garnered much attention for her controversial photo taken at a cathedral.

She is seen posing with her bag in front of an altar with a crucified statue of Jesus.

Some international fans strongly objected to the photo, pointing out that posing in a sacred place to promote a bag is disrespectful.

- “This photo is a great shock and has hurt Catholics…”
- “Even if you are not a Catholic, you shouldn’t be taking photos in front of the statue for an advertisement…”
- “Although I am a fan, holding a bag while taking a photo in front of a Jesus statue is disrespectful. It’s also a place of worship and not a tourist area.
On the other hand, others defended the photo, arguing that it appeared to be a simple commemorative photo rather than a promotional effort.

- “That place is a photo spot…why is everyone being so nitpicky.”
- “Don’t tons of tourists usually take photos there?”
- “So ridiculous.”
- “I don’t see a problem because there’s people that pray and people that photos there all the time.”
