The track features Lisa alongside American artists Doja Cat and Raye. It was also released with a sultry music video featuring the three stars.

Lisa looked gorgeous in the video, giving off old Hollywood vibes in some scenes.

However, these visuals have sparked a debate after being compared to one of Lisa’s previous releases.

In June 2024, Lisa released her first single, “Rockstar,” from her upcoming album Alter Ego. The release quickly became a hot topic for a variety of reasons, both positive and negative.

One of the negative points of the discussion centered around Lisa’s visuals in some of the teasers released. Specifically, some believed she was “black fishing” due to the “unnatural” skin tone she had in some photos.

This debate has resurfaced following the release of “Born Again,” as Lisa’s visuals differ drastically for the song. In born again, Lisa has a much softer appearance and her skin tone is much paler than what was seen for “Rockstar.”

While the change isn’t necessarily an indication, many pointed out that “Rockstar” had a more “hip-hop” concept, while “Born Again” leans more pop. This distinction and her change in visuals pointed to her accessorizing darker skin and mimicking Black people for many.

Others defended the idol, appropriately calling out those who referred to her as “white,” and expressing why her skin tone possibly varied so drastically.
