M.I.B’s Kangnam reveals that he never received money from parents while in Korea
While starring on MBC‘s I Live Alone, M.I.B.’s Kangnam has revealed his independence following his move to Korea to become a singer.
He starred on the show alongside Jeon Hyun Moo and Yook Joongwan, as they spent a day skiing. Following the exercise they went down to a restaurant to eat warm ramen, where Kangnam brought up the topic of living independently.
Kangnam stated, “It’s been three years since I came to Korea. Upon arriving here, I had never received any allowance from my parents,” adding, “My father had been against me pursuing music, so I wanted to follow my dreams with my own strength.” In other words, he decided to live independently in order to become a singer, despite the difficulties of bringing in proper income while being a trainee.
Netizens have since then left comments of support for Kangnam, stating that he had been strong and done the right thing. Lately, he has been featured in pictorials for Singles and The Celebrity magazines, as well as starring in SBS Running Man and Star Junior Show. He has also participated in SBS Power FM’s Jang Kiha’s Great Radio and jTBC’s Inside Story Salon, expanding into multiple shows and earning more experience in the variety world.
