Male Idol’s Ex-Girlfriend Threatens To Send Him To The Military By Exposing Sex Video

An ex-girlfriend of a male idol was sentenced to prison after attempting to blackmail him with a sex tape.
In particular, it was revealed that the perpetrator threatened to stop the victim’s entertainment activities by exploiting the characteristics of male idols, stating, “Stop being an idol, the only thing left is the military.”
The 12th Criminal Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court sentenced “A”, who was indicted on charges of violating the Special Act on Punishment and Sexual Crimes and property damage, to one year in prison and two years’ probation. They also ordered “A” to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment classes and be restricted from employment at child and youth and disabled organizations for four years.
The verdict revealed that “A” and the victim, “B” (26 years old), were in a relationship for about a year and four months from November 2020 to March 2022. However, after the relationship ended, “A” began to threaten the victim using a sex tape they had filmed during their relationship.
The first threat happened on December 10, 2021, with a social media account using the victim’s face and sending the account link to the victim via text message. “A” threatened and took advantage of the fact that male idols are restricted from working in the entertainment industry due to mandatory military service.
The second threat occurred on January 4, 2022, with a text message that read, “I’ll upload all our photos and tag you, ok? If you don’t talk to me, I will go all out. Just sue me, ok? I’m going to make an account and upload all our photos and videos and tag you. Answer me, you f*cker. Why are you not answering my calls and signing out of KakaoTalk.”
“A”’s crime did not stop as she threw and damaged the victim’s phone, causing repair costs, while arguing on the side of the road on December 31, 2021.
The court ruled on the special nature of the case during the sentencing process and stated that “each crime in the case was the defendant trying to block the victim’s future by threatening them with the sex tape.”
The victim has been revealed to have suffered considerable mental distress due to the matter, and the court presumed he would have suffered greater damage than an average person, considering his status as a celebrity.
However, the court also considered the fact that “A” fully admitted to the crime in court, reflected on it, and reached an agreement with the victim. The victim also expressed their intention to withdraw the complaint. “A” also did not distribute the footage but voluntarily deleted it.
Meanwhile, the court exempted the order to disclose personal information of “A” as it was difficult to determine whether it was a habit of sexual violence, as they were a first-time offender.
