MAMAMOO’s Hwasa Lets Out The Truth Behind Her Viral “Good Goodbye” Moment With Park Jung Min
MAMAMOO member Hwasa shared some interesting behind-the-scenes details of her viral moment with actor Park Jung Min at last year’s Blue Dragon Film Awards.

Hwasa recently appeared on the popular web show Salon Drip, hosted by Jang Do Youn, and shared how the viral “Good Goodbye” performance came about.

When the host asked if she had expected the performance to blow up this much, the singer admitted that she never saw it coming. She simply recalled being in the best of conditions with a high spirit. “I felt incredibly focused, and the vibe just felt right,” she added. However, she never realized her chemistry with Park Jung Min would cause such a stir, probably because she never rehearsed the sequence with him!

For those unaware, Hwasa performed her single, “Good Goodbye,” at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards. She was joined by Park on stage at the tail end of the song, where they acted out a romantic sequence while she continued singing live. Their on-stage chemistry soon had the internet in a chokehold, thrusting the song into mainstream popularity almost overnight. Hwasa went on to break records with the song, becoming the song with the second-highest all-time PAKs.

The fact that such a monumental on-stage moment was not meticulously choreographed has left many fans baffled. However, it wasn’t completely spontaneous either. Hwasa explained that she had filmed a rehearsal video of performing the song and sent it to Park Jung Min. The actor simply studied the video and executed his part at the venue. The singer admitted that not rehearsing it together added to the moment’s authenticity. “Even though it wasn’t improvised, it had the feel of an improvisation, which I really loved,” Hwasa admitted.

Even after the performance, the two of them barely interacted. Hwasa recalled shooting Park a quick text, thanking him for his participation, and receiving a curt reply.
