MLD Reveals Daisy’s Mom First Demanded That Daisy Be Let Go From MOMOLAND After Her Dating News

They revealed their side of the story in length.

As Daisy and MLD Entertainment continue their conflict over her contract and leave from MOMOLAND, MLD has released another statement where they described their story in depth.

MLD claimed that ever since they confirmed Daisy’s dating news with iKON‘s Yunhyeong after speaking with her directly, her mom demanded that she be let go from MOMOLAND.

MLD asked Daisy if she wanted to continue participating with the group for their upcoming album despite her mom’s opinions. Daisy reportedly did not have a firm answer, so they suggested that she go on hiatus.

Back in February 14, 2019, a news report announce Daisy’s dating rumors. After checking with Daisy personally, we were able to get the truth and confirm the dating rumors.

3 days after the dating news, Daisy’s mom contacted our company and said, ‘Take Daisy out of MOMOLAND. We’re going to come get her next week.’ We asked Daisy about it and she knew what was going on. We also asked her about participating in the next album promotions that we were preparing and she did not have a firm decision to join so we suggested that she should continue her hiatus.

Ever since, Daisy’s mom continued to demand MLD officially apologize and terminate her contract. After months of ongoing demands, MLD decided to let Daisy go without paying the contract violation fee.

However, Daisy’s mom demanded an additional payment from MLD as “reimbursements”. MLD found the demands of Daisy’s mother unreasonable and decided to withdraw their initial offer and claimed she will have to pay the fee if she wishes to leave.

MLD claims Daisy cut off all contact with the agency since August 2019 and remains unreachable since. MLD also demanded that KBS formally apologize for solely reporting Daisy’s unilateral story and rejecting the company’s side.

Read their statement below:

This isn’t true. As we mentioned before, the trainees who were eliminated from the program had their contracts terminated. Daisy was also eliminated through the judges and viewers judgements and was supposed to cancel her contract with us, but our CEO saw potential in Daisy and suggested that she stay on not as the “Debut Group” but a trainee.

The discussion for her to join MOMOLAND (debuted on November 10, 2016) first came up at a meeting at the end of November 2016. She later signed an Artist Contract with us in order to join MOMOLAND on March 2017.

Daisy claims she was not allowed to promote with MOMOLAND from May to August of last year, but MOMOLAND did not release a formal domestic album during that time. MOMOLAND released their 5th mini-album “I’m So Hot” on March 20, 2019 and did not have any sort of promotion outside of unit promotions for the next 9 months. This is where our conflict with Daisy started.

Back in February 14, 2019, a news report announce Daisy’s dating rumors. After checking with Daisy personally, we were able to get the truth and confirm the dating rumors.

We also asked her about participating in the next album promotions that we were preparing and she did not have a firm decision to join so we suggested that she should continue her hiatus.

Afterwards, Daisy’s mom continued to send us documents on March 12, March 27, and July 30, 2019, formally requesting an official apology and the termination of her contract.

Our agency wished to end things on good terms, so we replied to her documents on April 1, 2019. We held a meeting with Daisy’s lawyer in August and told her, ‘We will terminate your contract without any fees.’

But Daisy’s side rejected our terms and additionally demanded that we pay financial fees as reimbursements. We found it unreasonable and sent them a new document announcing our rejection to terminating her contract and the contract-violation fee they would have to pay if she wished to end the contract.

All throughout March to August of last year, we continued to send legal documents back and forth with Daisy’s side. Her claims that she requested to resume her activities back in May is a false statement that doesn’t make sense with the timeline or the situation. Daisy unilaterally cut off all contract with us since August, and we were unable to reach her ever since.
