MONSTA X Couldn’t Believe It When They Reached Top 5 In The Billboard 200 Chart

They’re the 2nd K-Pop act to get this achievement.

MONSTA X has made history with their first full length English album!

They debuted at #5 in the Billboard 200 chart with ALL ABOUT LUV. Released on February 14, it was the group’s first album under Epic Records.

ALL ABOUT LUV hit fifth place on the weekly 200 chart. This was calculated based on units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). According to Billboard, MONSTA X boosted sales in a number of ways.

First-week sales were bolstered by sales generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer, dozens of merchandise/album bundles, in-store appearances during street week, and more than a dozen different variants of the album available for fans to purchase.

The members couldn’t control their excitement at the news.

When we saw that our name didn’t just enter the charts but that we were Top 5, we were so happy. I could only laugh and feel happiness at the surprise achievement.

Leader Shownu shared his initial worry that the album would not be up to par with what fans were expecting.

The album contains songs with colors that are different from what MONSTA X usually shows, so we prepared a lot to express the new sides of us into the album. I’m happy with the support that we have received. I’m glad that many MONBEBE welcomed and loved the songs.

Joohoney, who wasn’t able to participate in the promotions due to health issues, also expressed his gratitude.

MONSTA X received so much love for this first full length album in the U.S. Although I only participated in the album [and not promotions] I am still really proud of the members. I will try to meet MONBEBE again when in better shape.

This makes MONSTA X the second K-Pop act to reach the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart following BTS.

Congratulations, MONSTA X!
