Nam Taehyun Sentenced To 1 Year In Prison For Drunk Driving
Nam Taehyun has been sentenced to one year in prison for his drunk driving charge.
Judges Yang Eun Sang and Heo Jun Seo of the 11th Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Court shared their verdict on Nam Taehyun’s sentencing today, April 9. They sentenced him to one year in prison and fined him ₩1.00 million KRW (about $676 USD) after finding him guilty of violating the Road Traffic Act by driving under the influence of alcohol.
The judges explained their reasoning for the prison time, stating that a major factor was the fact that he reoffended after previously receiving a fine for drunk driving and that this incident happened while he was already under probation following his violation of the Narcotics Control Act for a prior drug charge.
The court did not order his immediate detention at the court room, concluding he was not a flight risk and there was no danger he would destroy evidence.
Back in April 2025, caused an accident when the vehicle he was driving crashed into the median of a road on a bridge. While there were no casualties, it was found that his blood alcohol level was over 0.08% at the time. He was also fined ₩6.00 million KRW (about $4,060 USD) back in July 2023 after being caught drunk driving, and in January 2024, he was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, on charges of methamphetamine use.
