NCT Dream Fans’ Latest Actions Get Criticized For “Embarrassing The Artist”

NCT Dream has not been promoting for quite a while. The group has gone into hiatus as members Mark and Haechan promote with NCT 127 on a world tour. Their last comeback album Dream()scape was launched in March 2024, with the group’s world tour, The Dream Show 3: Dream()Scape spanning May to December 2024.
As such, fans are desperately hoping for the group to have some promotions. To carry across their wishes, they have rented an advertisement at the subway station right near the company. The station links directly to the company building, hence the position is prime for making their voices heard.

To the workers of SM Entertainment! Please give your famously ‘on hiatus’ artist NCT Dream some work!

The sign can clearly be seen by every member of the public as well.

Fans chose to hang it at Seoul Forest station, which is a bustling one due to its proximity to hot spots in Seoul. The fanbase responsible for it claimed that they hoped the workers would think of NCT Dream on their way to work.

Done installing the first round of offline publicizing.
Hello, we will be holding the advertisement event at the exit leading to SM Entertainment’s entrance at the Bundang Line Seoul Forest Station in hopes that the SM Entertainment workers will think about NCT Dream at least once on their way to and from work. The advertisement will go from today to March 31.

While netizens understood fans’ frustrations, they couldn’t help but feel pity for the workers. After all, many are helpless in the situation and are only instructed on what to do at the company. Higher-ups are unlikely to see the advertisement.

- Let’s think about what the regular folk who see this will think.
- The artists are sure gonna be embarrassed too.
- How embarrassing.
- Aigoo.
- If I were the workers, I’d be sick of this LOL. From the point of view of someone who is just receiving a salary, if consumers act like that, it would be tiring to work in the industry too.
In addition, many felt that this would only serve to embarrass the fans and artists in the public’s eyes. Although the fanbase had good intentions, this might not have been the best way to showcase their aspirations for the group.
