Kim Yoo Jung Turns Into A Chicken Nugget In New Netflix K-Drama

ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo is also rumored to star.

Recently, Netflix has dropped its K-content lineup, including second seasons of K-Dramas, such as Squid Game and Gyeongseong Creature, and the reality dating show Single’s Inferno 4.

We’re also getting a lot of new releases. Reportedly, Netflix will release a new K-Drama about a father who tries to bring his daughter back to life after she transforms into a piece of fried chicken. It’s appropriately titled Chicken Nugget.

The post went viral with 3.7M views at the time of writing. Netizens were shocked by the premise, joking that “someone got paid to write this.” Others pointed out that it was similar to the hypothetical questions that people often ask their loved ones, such as “Would you still love me if I was a worm?”

Some couldn’t help but imagine the worst ending: the father eats the daughter.

Now, Netflix has quote-tweeted the now-viral tweet, confirming that this K-Drama is very real and coming to the streaming service. The official X account included the trailer as proof, and it looks as wild as it sounds.

The Netflix original is a mystery-comedy based on Park Ji Dok‘s Webtoon Dak Gang Geong (Sweet & Sour Chicken), released in 2019. It stars Kim Yoo Jung (also known as Kim You Jung, who previously starred in My Demon, The 8th Night, and 20th Century Girl) as Choi Min Ah, Ryu Seung Ryong (Moving, Kingdom, and Miracle in Cell No. 7) as Choi Sun Man, and Ahn Jae Hong (Kingdom, Be Melodramatic, and Fight For My Way) as Ko Baek Joong. Rumors have circulated that ASTRO‘s Cha Eunwoo (also romanized as Cha Eun Woo) will also appear.

The series revolves around Choi Min Ah, who transforms into fried chicken due to a mistaken usage of a fatigue-relief machine. Her father, Choi Sun Man, and intern Go Baek Jung join forces to reverse the transformation, uncovering dark secrets along the way.
