In January, the idol created a TikTok account, sharing videos of various dance challenges and more. He has also followed several accounts on the platform, including a popular Filipina dancer and social media influencer, Niana, who excitedly shared the news.

After this, Niana’s manager shared a photo showing J-Hope DMing the young star, asking for advice and adding, “Please teach me TikTok.”

Since then, some netizens have felt that the DM portion of the situation was false and have provided proof of this.

The post by her manager was deleted shortly after, which is part of what many claim is proof of the DM being fake. A netizen who took a closer look at the message shared details about TikTok’s alleged system, claiming that J-Hope’s account would have appeared differently if real.

Some pointed to small details of the account compared to J-Hope’s real account, affirming their belief that a fan account was behind the DM sent to Niana.

Fans clearly stated that the alleged debunking was not an attack on Niana, but rather a wish for J-Hope’s privacy to be truthfully and accurately respected.

Other still believe the DM was real and see no reason for concern over J-Hope’s message to the young dancer, who is a known ARMY.
