“No Shame” — ILLIT Accused Of Plagiarizing NJZ (NewJeans) Performance Yet Again

Even K-netz agree.

Online reactions have swelled after ILLIT’s recent Music Bank Festival performance in Japan, with many netizens echoing fans’ claims that a portion of the choreography and even their outfits looked reminiscent of NJZ‘s (NewJeans) “Attention” dance break, sparking widespread discussion across social media platforms and K-Pop communities.

On X (formerly Twitter), posts comparing video clips of ILLIT’s festival performance with NJZ’ Attention choreography drew thousands of interactions, with many users suggesting that specific movements, the beats on the backtrack, and the outfits looked strikingly similar.

Supporters of the comparison argued that it all aligned closely enough to feel intentional rather than coincidental, blaming the company for doing this on purpose.

Even K-netz are agreeing with the comparisons. Rather than blaming ILLIT or NJZ, the blame has shifted to the company.

  • I thought that NJZ was back to performing.
  • Honestly, if HYBE cared for ILLIT, they wouldn’t make them do that.
  • Oho… I don’t like NJZ, but this is kinda similar.

  • I pressed play, and it seems true.
  • Oh, it’s similar actually.
  • No, but why does their company have to make them do similar hairstyles, outfits, and choreography? They’re just setting both groups up to be cursed at. I don’t get it.

You can watch a comparison below for yourself.
