The Rookie Girl Group That (Almost) Broke MONSTA X’s Record Of Having The Biggest Photocards In K-Pop

And here’s why this might interest you.

Arguably the most famous type of collectible in K-Pop is photocards (also known as PCs). Included in each physical album copy and in other special releases, they consist of rare K-Pop idol pictures.

Most photocards come in a standard portrait size of 55 x 85 mm (or 5.5 x 8.5 cm). This way, fans who collect them can expect that they will fit into their usual clear sleeves.

This is why so many were surprised at just how big the photocards of NewJeans, HYBE‘s and ADOR‘s newest girl group, were announced to be.

The PCs in the bag version of their debut album, New Jeans, have dimensions of 65 x 95 mm (or 6.5 x 9.5 cm), noticeably larger than most.

Netizens couldn’t help but bring up MONSTA X‘s usual photocard size in comparison.

The STARSHIP Entertainment boy group has made a name for themselves throughout the years for their bigger-than-usual photocards.

There has been no shortage of jokes made by MONBEBEs about their awkward fit due to their large height and width.

NewJeans’s 65 x 95 mm PC beat out MONSTA X’s 62 x 88 mm (or 6.2 x 8.8 cm) card ever so slightly.

Luckily for those planning on purchasing NewJeans’s album, the photocards will actually be smaller than initially thought.

ADOR clarified that the size indicated in their original post pertained to the envelope that the photocards will come in and not the material of the cards themselves. They will follow the standard 55 x 85 mm (or 5.5 x 8.5 cm) instead.

Hello, this is ADOR. This is a notice about the NewJeans 1st EP ‘New Jeans’ Bag version and Bluebook version photocards. The 65 x 95 mm listed in the existing specifications is the size of the envelope containing the photocard. The photocard itself is 55 x 85 mm. Please be advised when purchasing.
