Girl Group Replacing NJZ (NewJeans) For Advertisement Triggers Reactions

Recently, an online community post garnered attention after netizens reportedly discovered NJZ (NewJeans) being replaced by another girl group as models for Hyundai Duty Free.
The group in question was girl band QWER.
This model change was shocking, as major duty-free shops had minimized star marketing to cut costs. Previously, Hyundai Duty Free was the only major duty-free shop that maintained a model contract. They selected NJZ as their model in 2023, and the contract period was later extended, with NJZ continuing to be the company’s model.

With this, netizens felt that the overall atmosphere of the brand had changed.

- “NJZ was really luxurious.”
- “NJZ suited the brand well.”
- “Are you sure it’s the same brand? Why does it look so bad suddenly? And it’s not just the new model that’s the problem.”
- “They are bound to change models since NJZ isn’t promoting right now.”
- “Aren’t duty-free brands supposed to have a luxurious concept? What happened…”
Others felt that the brand chose the new models solely for marketing purposes.

Do you really think the company is that stupid to spend money on QWER? They probably decided that because of their good image, it would have a great advertisement effect. No matter how much you deny it, it won’t change that they are the models.
