The Painful Reason GOT7’s Jackson Wang Always Leaves A Light On At Home

He leaves them on even if he goes abroad for months.

GOT7‘s Jackson Wang opened up about his life on the latest episode of Eric Nam‘s podcast, the Daebak Show. Jackson held nothing back, even when Eric asked him to talk about a mental breakdown he had been having for over a year.

To end the show, Eric went over some concerns Jackson’s fans had sent in for them to discuss. The first was, “When I’m around friends, I’m very happy. But, when I’m alone, I feel lonely and depressed – is it just me?

Jackson completely sympathized with the fan’s thoughts. He shared that, even then, he would feel lonely once he got home after filming the podcast.

For the first time in his career, Jackson decided to share a story from his life without holding back. He said,

I always had this idea that I’ve always wanted to shoot a music video of, that inspired me for 5-6 years straight. I never talked about it but, every time when I get home, I never turn off all the lights in my house. I always leave one on…if I’m aborad for months I still leave one on, because when I get home, I always feel like someone’s waiting for me…every time when I get home I feel like that light is waiting for me.

The singer wasn’t afraid to share his struggles from dealing with so many people constantly relying on him for work. He even had to take care of his parents. When coming home, the light symbolized someone or something he could depend on for a change, which comforted him.

Eric empathized with his friend by pointing out that being a celebrity who so many rely on looks glamorous on the surface, but there’s also an enormous pressure to work continually and provide for them.

Watch the full video below. Jackson and Eric talk about the depression that sometimes comes with being alone at the 12:49 mark.
