Lee Gun Joon, KBS Drama’s General Manager, rejoiced and revealed in a statement how proud he was of the drama.

I am very happy that The King’s Affection has become the first K-Drama to win an International Emmy award. I believe this is a result of K-Dramas becoming recognized. As much as Korean content is loved around the world, I feel a great sense of responsibility. I will do my best so that KBS can continue contributing to the popularity of Korean content.
