BTS’s oldest member, Jin (born in 1992), is expected to enlist next year. Then, the other members are expected to join in this order: Suga, RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

If they perform their military service following their age, like any idol group, there will be 4 to 5 years and even ten years without full group activities. Moreover, BTS has been focusing on its group activities since their debut.

The Korean government has a unique law in which winners of Fine Arts International Competitions may be excluded from the mandatory military service. Since BTS are public artists, it is unlikely that they will be exempted. Still, many have argued that BTS has spread Korean culture abroad through their music. It is being speculated now that the government has plans of improving the system to cater to people of other occupations. The government task force will be announcing the proposal for enlistment improvements this month.
