Popular Actress Completes Lengthy Divorce After 5 Years Of Shocking Relationship Drama

Actress Hwang Jung Eum has officially finalized her divorce, ending a long and often turbulent marriage and chapter in her personal life.

On May 26, her agency Y.ONE Entertainment confirmed that the court had approved the divorce through mediation, marking the legal end of her marriage to businessman and former professional golfer Lee Young Don.
According to the agency, the proceedings were settled amicably. They also explained that real estate asset freezes — reported earlier during the lawsuit — were part of the standard process of dividing joint property and will now be lifted.

Hwang’s love life has long been in the public eye. Before her marriage, she was in a high-profile relationship with SG Wannabe’s Kim Yong Jun. The two met in 2005 during the filming of a music video and went public in 2008. After nearly nine years together, they quietly ended their relationship in 2015.

Just months later, in late 2015, Hwang began dating Lee Young Don. The couple moved quickly, marrying in February 2016. Their first son was born in August 2017. However, in September 2020, Hwang filed for divorce for the first time. During mediation, the couple reconciled, and by late 2021, Hwang was expecting their second child, who was born in March 2022.
Despite the reconciliation, the relationship did not last. In February 2024, Hwang filed for divorce again, this time with no turning back.
In between legal proceedings, Hwang briefly dated basketball player Kim Jong Kyu in 2024. However, their relationship ended just two weeks after it was made public.
