Popular Idol Addresses “Music Video Porn Watching” Controversy, Promises To Make Changes
PENTAGON‘s Kino was recently hit with criticism for a controversial scene in his music video.

The music video for his song “CLUB SEX CIGARETTES” was released on October 1 and included scenes that alluded to Kino watching porn while eating and smoking. Reactions were strong, with many disapproving of the image he presented.
Kino’s intentions were exactly to do this, as he revealed his thoughts in an interview, stating that he wanted to make people uncomfortable.

He has now addressed the complaints again during a live stream, where he revealed more of his thoughts about the video.
As stated in the music video interview, Kino shared that he wished to expose the hypocrisy he has observed in people, noting that those who complain the most are often guilty of misdeeds themselves.
The original intention I had with this music video was to call out a specific type of people I’ve always found unpleasant — those who act all refined and superior, who pretend they’re different, who judge others by their own self-righteous standards, especially the bad “kkondae” types (arrogant, condescending elders). My goal was to mirror their exact behavior and turn that reflection back on them — to point the blade at them, so to speak, ultimately. That was the valid message and purpose I wanted to express through this music video.

He did, however, address complaints that he went “too far,” saying that he didn’t want to hurt anyone or cause concern to his fans. He said that he planned on replacing the “problematic” scenes as soon as possible.
However, I’ve realized that certain scenes could understandably make viewers uncomfortable. While creating and releasing this project, I never intended to offend or hurt anyone, nor did I mean to cause concern to my fans in any way. It was my oversight not to recognize that some parts could be interpreted differently. I will therefore edit and replace the problematic scenes with different cuts as quickly as possible.

He also shared that his values remained the same and that he planned to continue expressing his thoughts in his own way.
Many international fans have expressed frustration with the situation, remarking how an idol sharing his true thoughts and feelings should not have gotten responses like the ones seen.
