“Proof” Of BTS Fans Using Chart Manipulation Against NewJeans (NJZ) Sparks Outrage
A recent viral post on TheQoo alleges that BTS fans previously used “reverse streaming” to manipulate charts against NewJeans.

After BTS fans accused other fandoms of recently blocking “SWIM” from staying in Melon #1 by streaming competitor song IVE’s “Bang Bang,” Korean netizens resurfaced posts on X that “prove” ARMYs have used the same exact method in the past.
BTS Allegedly Blocked From Melon #1 By Rival Fans’ Chart Manipulation, Claims Go Viral
The incident reportedly took place in 2023, when NewJeans’ hit “Ditto” was on track to break BTS’s record for the most perfect all-kills, originally set by “Dynamite.”
Songs with most Perfect All-Kill (PAK) in history:
1. #NewJeans Ditto (655)
2. #BTS Dynamite (610)
3. #IU Celebrity (462)
4. #IVE I AM (359)
5. #IU Love wins all (339)
6. #ZICO Any Song (330)
7. #HUNTRX, #EJAE, #AUDREYNUNA, #REIAMI Golden (318) *still counting* ⬆️

According to the post, ARMYs encouraged fans to stream Taeyang’s “Vibe” and, as a backup, NewJeans’ “OMG” to push these songs up the charts on streaming platforms like Bugs. The idea was that boosting other songs could indirectly prevent “Ditto” from claiming the top spot.

The viral post attached tweets in which ARMYs asked their fellow fans to use the method.
K-ARMYs, please RT this!
The record for a perfect all-kill across Melon, Genie, Bugs, YouTube Music, Flo, and Vibe is about to be broken , it’s currently held by Dynamite, the all-time #1.
Melon #1 is tough, but at this pace, the record could realistically be broken within 7 days. So let’s focus our streaming power on Bugs, where it has a better chance:
1. On Bugs, download and stream “Vibe” to push it to #1.
2. As a backup plan, push O.MG to #1.

Please spread this to fellow ARMYs!
Currently, Dynamite holds the perfect all-kill at #1, but [Ditto] has overtaken #2 and is quickly closing the gap… If things continue like this, it could take #1 within 7 days.
To make this happen, we need streams on a chart that fluctuates relatively easily, like Bugs. Streaming “Vibe” along with the #2 song is the most effective strategy!

The streaming method and the proof tweets have triggered scathing reactions from Korean netizens in the comments of the viral post.

- “An individual could do it alone, but this is the first time I’ve seen organized encouragement lol. It’s not even like they’re saying ‘let’s stream our own artist’s song.’”
- “They actually did something like that?? lol”
- “Wow… really, ARMYs are such ‘servants’ to HYBE. They’ve done all kinds of ugly things. Reverse streaming wasn’t just a K-Pop urban legend. It actually happened…”
- “HYBE and ARMY seem really triggered by NewJeans.”
- “When they get criticized for mistakes, BTS fans act like everyone’s just paying too much attention. Meanwhile, they obsessively focus on other artists and harass them lol.”
