Massive Fan Protest Takes Place Outside DAY6’s Concert In Jakarta, Shocking Clip Goes Viral

Fans have gathered en masse.

Tensions reached a boiling point at DAY6’s concert in Jakarta, as hundreds and thousands of fans started a huge protest outside the venue while the show was ongoing.

The outcry comes in response to dangerous weather conditions during entry, a controversial venue change, and a ticket policy that left many fans frustrated and without options.

The concert, organized by Mecima Pro, was originally scheduled to be held at a different venue. However, due to a scheduling conflict with a local football match on April 27, the event was moved to a stadium with an open roof. Given Indonesia’s frequent and severe weather, fans were immediately concerned about the lack of protection. The backlash only grew when fans found that there would be changes to the seating plan, and no refunds would be offered despite the adjustments.

The day of the concert saw fans waiting outside in the middle of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds. Many were forced to take cover under unstable tents that ultimately collapsed under the pressure of the weather, creating an even more dangerous situation.

As the concert proceeded inside, viral videos from outside the venue showed masses of fans chanting in protest against the organizer.

One widely circulated photo, which has especially angered fans, allegedly shows the representative of Mecima Pro sitting in the front row, dry and comfortable, while others stood soaked outside.

You’ve got people protesting outside like that, MYDAYs exhausted from waiting and standing in the rain, DAY6 themselves clearly feeling awful and not knowing what to do… Yet the so-called representative is sitting front row, dry and comfortable? How does that make any sense? It’s infuriating. Never work with them again.

Inside the venue, fans claim the DAY6 members seemed visibly uneasy.

The Jakarta soundcheck is over, and Kim Wonpil looked the most on edge I’ve seen him in a while—I was holding my breath watching him. Even though it was just a soundcheck, Sungjin and Young K were so considerate, constantly checking on things and saying really kind words. Dowoon was also moving around non-stop from beginning to end, making sure everything was okay. As for me, I just wanted to reassure our Pil that it’s okay to be sensitive, so I gave up on taking photos and just kept cheering him on and telling him to stay strong.

Some of them are even seen apologizing.

Another post claims DAY6’s team was seen in a heated discussion with the Mecima Pro staff.

As the situation unfolds, fans demand accountability from Mecima Pro and ask for JYP Entertainment to not work with the organizer again.
