Second-Generation Idol Flexes By Becoming A Cafe Owner And Paying Off Her Family’s Debt

She’s a singer, actress, and now, an entrepreneur.

Recently, a former second-generation idol opened up about her successful cafe and impressive money management skills.

In a preview of KBS2‘s show Problem Child in House, which will air on September 13, singer and actress Uee appeared as a guest along with Ha Jun, her co-star from the K-Drama Live Your Own Life.

In this episode, Uee shared that she recently became a cafe owner. Despite her busy schedule, she doesn’t neglect her business; she shared that on days when she doesn’t have any filming to do, she goes out and personally makes drinks and desserts at her cafe.

She also made everyone laugh by revealing that her employees sometimes jokingly told her to put on makeup when coming to the cafe so that they could get more customers.

I go to work without makeup, but the employees tell me to put on makeup to promote the cafe more.

When asked about the cafe’s monthly income, Uee’s answer showed that her business has successful earnings.

I can pay my three employees’ salaries in full and still make profit.

Additionally, Uee drew attention by unveiling her surprising money management tactics. She shared that she never uses credit cards—only debit cards.

I don’t use credit cards, only debit cards. I’ve been managing my money myself for three years, and I limit myself to using debit cards because I feel like I would spend endlessly if I used credit cards.

Furthermore, she revealed how she provided for her parents financially after debuting, showing her success and respect for her parents.

I paid off my family’s debts and upgraded my parents’ house to a spacious single-family home.

From 2009 to 2017, Uee was a member of the girl group After School, and since then, she has acted in various K-Dramas, including Queen Seondeok (2009), High Society (2015), and My Only One (2018). Her upcoming K-Drama Live Your Own Life will be released on September 16.
