SHINee’s Key Exposes His Texts With SM Entertainment’s Lee Soo Man
SHINee‘s Key was the latest guest on Lee Young Ji‘s popular series, My Alcohol Diary. Fans love the show because the combination of drinks plus Lee Young Ji’s consideration and blunt honesty allow idols to be comfortable around her, often talking openly about various topics.
In the recent episode, Key opened up about his true feelings about SM Entertainment after Lee Young Ji teased him for calling himself a contract worker.
Key: Since I am also a contract worker and you are also a contract worker, we never know what will happen in the future. I always think that way.
Lee Young Ji: I’ve never seen someone who introduces himself as a contract worker.
And while Key did later express his love for SM Entertainment…
Key: I love my company. I love you [SM Entertainment].
He further proved how the company supports him by exposing his text messages from Lee Soo Man, SM Entertainment’s founder.
Lee Soo Man has shown his consideration for his artists many times. Like how he greeted Girls’ Generation after their performance at the SMTOWN LIVE 2022 concert. And it would seem that Lee Soo Man is equally as proud of Key.
Lee Young Ji first asked if Key receives specific instructions from SM Entertainment’s founder.
Lee Young Ji: Since you have much experience, you now receive direct feedback from Lee Soo Man, right? Does Lee Soo Man directly tell you what to do?
Which Key denies, explaining that because of his experience, he has a lot of freedom.
Key: He doesn’t do it to me.
Lee Young Ji: I think I know why.
Instead, Lee Soo Man contacts Key just to let him know he’s watching his various content.
Key: Look at this. He sometimes takes a picture of the TV when I come out.
Lee Young Ji: He sends it to you?
Key: Yeah, he also tells me that he is currently watching it.
Key also reveals that “if there are moments where [Lee Soo Man] thinks of him,” he also texts the idol.
Key: Also, if there are moments where he thinks of me then…
Like when a Japanese girl told Lee Soo Man that she learned to speak Korean because of SHINee.
Key: “I felt good today because a Japanese girl in a hotel knew how to speak Korean and she said she learned i by looking at SHINee songs’ lyrics. Good Good.“
Key explains that the number of times Lee Soo Man says “good” have a unique scale of how happy he actually is.
Key: One “good” is equivalent to 3.5 stars while two “goods” are 4.5 stars. If there are three “goods,” then I do a party in my house.
And he jokingly asks Lee Soo Man to extend his contract.
Key: Please extend the contract.
