SHINee’s Minho And Taemin Reveal Why May 2021 Was So Special To Them

“This year’s May feels even more precious.”

SHINee is on the cover of the August 2021 issue of Marie Claire Korea, and their famously deep bond is just as strong as ever!

During their interview with Marie Claire, SHINee was asked how they spent May 2021 after finishing promotions for their seventh full-length album, Don’t Call Me.

Because SHINee debuted in May 2008, the month of May is very special to them.

Every year, the group hosts a fan meeting called “SHINee Day” to celebrate their debut anniversary with Shawols.

This year, May was even more special. While Onew, Minho, and Key were completing their mandatory military service, the group was not able to celebrate their debut together.

Minho explained just how meaningful this past May was to SHINee.

When 3 of our members were enlisting, it was such a pity that we weren’t able to celebrate SHINee day twice and because we won’t be able to be together next year on SHINee day twice and because we won’t be able to be together next year on SHINee day, this year’s May feels even more precious.

Taemin shared why this May was especially important to him, too. He revealed that he wanted to make good memories with Shawols before enlisting in the military.

I want to create sincere works but because there isn’t much time, there are parts where I felt that it was such a pity and I feel sorry towards my fans, too. I want to spend the month of my debut anniversary by leaving good memories with my fans.
